SL280 Constant Beeping
I have a '94 280SL. When I put the hardtop on for this winter, bizarrely the drivers side window stopped working completely, the soft top only started closing 50% and whenever I am driving there is a loud beeping noise with the roof retraction and roll bar buttons flashing. The only way to stop the noise whilst moving is by holding the roll bar button up or down. Any ideas would be most welcome please...

There is a lot of threads about RST issues in this forum. For starters, keep window, roof and roll bar switches each in turn pressed about 90 seconds. If you are lucky this may reset the relevant functions and your roof can be operated again.
If the above does not help, you can lower the roadster soft top and set hardtop manually. Refer to owner's manual for instructions.
Some of the diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) prohibit roof operating and will not reset by the above methods. Then you need a blink code reader to reset them and get clues for further diagnosis.
