Hello everyone, I'd like to start by saying that I'm new to the forum, so please forgive me if this topic has already been discussed. I've just received my 2000 Mercedes SL500. I imported the car from the USA, and before loading it onto the container, the car was driving normally. However, after unloading it at the port, I encountered an issue with a locked steering wheel. The car starts up fine, but despite the engine running, the steering wheel remains locked. Can anyone help me and provide advice on how to solve this problem? Thank you very much in advance.

Not good if the theft device is triggered.

The steering wheel has a antitheft device that engages when the ignition switch or lock are tampered with.

I changed out my ignition lock and cylinder about 9 years ago and I did a write up about it on the other site.

Do a search over there on my member name and ignition lock or cylinder.
