HAd a new sat nav unit fitted in my SL yesterday. The fitters took off the hard top while they did the work.
They managed to drain the battery during the course of the day. They charged it up and the car starts, but the roof mechanism is not working. The roof up/down switch is lit up.
I tried "re-synching" the system by raising/lowering the side windows, but no luck.
Any advice other than take it to a dealer to have it reset by them?

 

Did you check the fuses?

The pump which runs the roof is in the centre of the spare wheel well, under a cover, so check the connector to it and the fuses. Keep in mind there are some in the trunk as well as under the hood.

If they took off the hard top, I assume you were able to put it back on and latch it afterwards?

 

That was the problem - couldn't latch the hard top back on.
Anyway, was fixed the next morning by disconnecting the battery for 30mins then re-connecting.......
Now proud owner of fantastic Becker sat nav.
