New SL owner...

Just joined the crew. Had a 73 450sl back in the day but this is my first SL500. love the look and the ride. Seat could be more comfortable, need to upgrade wheels and headlights. Best option for headlights?

I also have a 1998. You can get the Euro headlights on eBay for about $750. Apparently they’re great.

What are the best wheel sizes for our cars, trying to find some monoblocks but prices and sizes are all over the place.

For diameter, you want 17s or 18s. Get rid of the 16s. 19s will compromise ride quality too much unless the roads you drive on are in perfect shape. Choice between 17” and 18” depends upon how you value handling vs ride comfort. Either size will definitely improve handling over your stock 16”s. And 18s of course will give you a bit better handling than 17s at the cost of some ride comfort. You choose where you want to be on that trade off. Width should be at least 8”. Going wider in the rears with a staggered width set will cost you more, but worth it if you want to spend the extra money. Just be sure the offsets fit your r129.
