Coilovers or Lowering Springs?

Hi y'all, first-time poster, I have a 2001 SL500 and I want to lower it no more than an inch and a half. I dont look to drive too crazy but love to open it up on a road trip, I live in the PNW so the roads are good without any extremes in weather. I come seeking guidance on the following, 1. I'd love any type of assurance doing this won't mess up the frame and also, how should I go about doing it? I've looked into coilovers (Ceika mainly but would love more suggestions) but also recognize the tried and true H&R + Bilstein combo can work. Any advice would be hella appreciated thanks

I have Eibach springs with Bilstein B4 shocks. Very comfortable.
