‘95 SL500 - thoughts on buying?

Any thoughts on swooping in on this with that much work done? Level of care and service is a major plus but also wondering if anyone would see any major issues in functionality/maintenance with a ‘95 vs looking for later years with the 5speed/OBDII/M113 or any other updates. Price is at 9k with 93k miles located in the south. Would be a low mile daily

I really like 96-98. I do agree there has been a lot of work done. What are the color combinations? How nice is the interior? Any clear coat peeling ? My son has a very large ebay store specializing in R129 parts and refurbishing. “thebenzgarage” on ebay. Good luck and check out some special SL’s like the Red anniversary model and the Silver Arrow. ok

Yeah 96-98 seems a popular choice but haven’t seen many with good records for a similar price. it’s a seemingly pretty nice black on black, haven’t seen it in person but everything looks good. And good to know about your sons shop!

The dist. cap .. wires etc. There are links with many reasons why the 96-98 are sought after. I have had a 96 and currently 98. My son has over 60 R129’s for a ton of OEM parts plus many many new parts for the interior refurbs. We also rebuild the hydraulic cylinders
here is one site talking about the differences
