Putting a Panoramic Roof on a 1992 or 1995 R129 SL
Hi there,
I currently own a 1992 300SL. I'd really like to fit it with a panoramic glass hardtop roof from a later edition 1997 R129 SL.
Is this possible?
Are there any issues with this??
And if so how surmountable are they???
Greatly appreciate all replies, good advice & pointers.
Happy motoring all!!

Pano top
We have sold many pano tops. There might be a few minor adjustments but should fit. If you are worried I would advise to drive to the top and put it on right there. They definitely give the R129’s a more modern look. The prices have risen quite a bit ..it’s very easy to get $5k for a top . If they keep rising I might have to sell mine!! Also make sure the pull down visor is freed up and working . Hard to get parts for the visor screen rollers. springs etc.

It will depend on the year of your car - my 1996 R129 accepted a Pano roof of unknown age without problem, but as suggested, take your car to the roof to check that it fits and all the features work properly.

The pano roof is built for R129 with self dropping windows with "open" seals. You will have to try change them against the older ones for windows with no self dropping windows like your model. Dont know if this works, never tried.
