SL/R230: Weird Sighting on SL

How pathetic.

A replica of a one of a kind painting is a very normal situation. Comparing this to replicating a badge on a car is absolutely ridiculous.
Please Carlos?

You are comparing a Picasso to a Mercedes Benz. The rarest form of art to a few nicely put together pieces of metal of which they produce about 250,000 a year.
Many in this world would become outraged by such a comparison.

Surely you meant poorly put together pieces of metal...

Want to sell your badges please????? (just kidding)

Ok, so maybe there are a few SL500 owners that like our/you/this car (SL600) so much, they went and rebadged the vehicle, so what? Does this really effect your daily life in any way? I find it kind of funny seeing a SL500 with SL600 badges, missing the "V12" from the side. Not bad, not everyone can afford the 140K price tag, 200 for the badges seems much more of a bargin, espically if the person is doing it for looks, and never races-- no one, but hardcore Benz enthusiasts will ever have to the slightest clue that he/she does not infact have a V12 resting under the hood. My point of view.
Best Regards,
John

There is just no need for people to try to pretend to have something they don't. It is not even a money issue, it is one of character.
It is just stupid. Be confident in yourself to be who you are. If you think you as a person are defined by what car you drive or how expensive your car is then you should save the money on the badge or any car for that matter and go see a psychologist because you got bigger problems than the badge.
Regards as well.
I do see Carlos point of view with the Picasso comparison. In my area, some of the SL owners really cannot afford a SL and use up there saving just to have a SL. In that case, they always badge up. On the other hand, I usually see kids re-badge up on their cars. I guess they want to stand out or an image thing.
