New rims!
Well the rim has arrived and the next step is to lower it.
Thus some Qs on lowering. The car has airmatic, so i presume it needs a lowering module to piggy back to the current module.
1) How is the SL55 lower than the normal SL? is this via computer settings or lowering module? or is it a totally different setup?
2) Which module will u recommend? 03 SL500
3) Can the car be lowered by retuning the settings on the standard comp?

Nice car all though I personally don't like the rims... But hey that's just me.
Regarding the lowering.... Read my posts in this tread:

Hope it helps

thanks for the info.
The rims actually look much better in person. It has taken me 2 years to actually find a set or rims that is not too common, yet adds to the SL.
I respect each and everyones opinions and always glad to hear how people think of the car.

They're sharp...
and different. Congrats on NOT going with the flow.
The color's perfect for the car, too.
Enjoy that sweet ride,
Greg

i wouldn't consider those rims on our S500 as well. It's a one off thing for the SL.
I'd stick with normal AMG rims for the S500, but seeing that we use it to charter our clients around and the driver drives the car 90% of the time, I wouldn't even spend money on rims for the "S".
but hey, it matches the the SUV
the rear dish

It's one of the misconceptions of the SL that it has airmatic suspension. It doesn't and some of the magazine writers who should know better often make the mistake. The suspension struts (which after all set the ride height) have variable spring and damping rates set by the ABC so its this which has to be updated.
