SL600 RennTech Dyno'ed @ 540rwhp!!!

After receiving the 100 octane flash program last week, I finally got a chance to take the SL in for a new dyno. The last reading I got was with the RennTech flash only. Since last time I have added Eisenhaus exhaust and the fuel flash. This thing is a beast!!!! When we dyno'ed it, everybody in the shop stopped what they were doing to come watch (including the FedEx guy). This was done on a DynoJet and they were unable to hook into the car to get a torque reading (the number we really wanted). When it was over the car put down 539.9 at the rear wheels!!!! We calculated that with the drive train loss from the automatic transmission that the car now has somewhere near 670hp at the flywheel!! We are assuming that the torque numbers are now well over 800lb/ft, we're going to get a tq reading next week.

Bring on that new ZO6!!!!

Here are some pics of the car on the dyno (with the original wheels on for less rotating mass than the 20's), I'll post the graph later. BTW the outside temp was 99F with 17% RH. Going to the strip 2nite, got some upgrades on the 911 too!! I'll post the results tomorrow.

Are you not getting to the point where the car might not be designed to handle such huge amounts of power?

You are talking such huge amounts here. I can't imagine what it would be like to hit that throttle.

Wheelspin is starting to become an issue. We usually run 295 BFG Drag radials at the strip with the stock 18's, but I think that we might have to switch to custom made 17's so we can run 315 Mickey Thompson ET drags to really hook up.

I would like to understand how you can handle more than 800 lb/ft with the stock transmission.
Plus I have a lot of doubt for the long term reliability. You could read in mercedes Enthusiast a long time ago in an article concerning this engine that it could handle 580 HP maxi with stock turbos (mercedes technicians source). How will it handle 90 more than the max value?

Wow, that much power with only an exhaust and ECU reflash? Those Twin Turbos aren't even close to their full potential on the car stock.
Who care about the corvette z06 being faster then a sl65, they are completely two different cars. One is made for racing (the vette), the other is just a mad scientist's project. There are tons of features on the sl65 that you won't get on a vette, plus it's still a Chevy VS a MB. I'm not dissing the new z06 vette, i think it's an absolutely amazing car, but please stop with these pointless comparisons.

All you have to do is go to the Chevy dealership once for service and the difference will be more than clear.

I'm sick of these magazine racers. They read a couple of articles and think that they're experts. These jackasses have never been on a track in their lives. I ran an 11.7 in the SL (pre 100 octane flash and exhaust) in AZ in 79f with single digit humidity at high altitude. They tested a (non restricted) ZO6 in cool temps, high humidity and low altitude and it ONLY ran a 11.7.

Any body who knows ANYTHING about performance and racing knows that my SL will waste that plastic GM car.

BTW it's still only a Corvette.

PS... I'm selling my corvette if the Canuck has enough money to buy it since he loves them so much

hahah dood relax, im just saying that Z06 witha decent driver will still beat your 900ft of trq, just accept it... lol Im not even talking about Nurdering 7.42 lap.

A guy from a z06 board just run 11.6 @ 125 mph i belive... stock.


Funny how you cannot accept that other cars are faster then another. You car is still awesome.

I drive a ****y ML350 and i get beaten by a Cooper S lol I dont care.

Yea but where's the dyno prove lol? I dont think 5 speed would hold up tho....
