SL600 fog/Driving light Xenon Conversion Question

I posted this question in the electronics forum but so far no reply so I figure I'll try my luck here.

I am trying to convert the Halogen (9006) fog/driving light on my SL600 to Xenon/HID. Has anyone tried this? Will I need a D2R or a D2S bulbs?

thx!

Did he say why? The only reason that I can think of is may be the aftermarket ballast will cause error messages?

He said they would have to add new wires and a different module. I was refering to the headlamps.

I see.

The only thing that I am worry about is that if the system monitors the stock halogen bulbs for faults then it might not like to see a Xenon/HID ballast in it's place.

thx for the reply

Xenon depot comes with Ultinons

The last place you want to go is a dealer to install this.. Call around to some local custom auto shops in your area, Try some ricer tuner shops as well. They will be able to tell where to find who you need. I know many people who have did this with all different model benz's. It is not that hard of a job.

I installed these fog/accents myself where there was no lights at all, I also updated and installed my tail and headlamps and side mirror lights. Here are pics.. Good luck

Check with the guys at UmNitza, too. They do this type of work and offer solutions and expertise. They helped me with my CLK500, as I recall.

I replaced the stock halogens with Xenon HIDs in my CLK500. Everything works perfect. I just have a little issue with the dim lights (has nothing to do with the Xenons). I had a local performance/custom auto shop do mine. They converted them very quickly and I really like the results. The only thing is that you will probably want to change the other lights because the yellow lights won't look good with the white/blue Xenon headlights.
