Jack, side question... Do you have any particular recommendations on good web tutorials for HDR photography? I basically gather that, in the simplest (and least artful) approach, you snap 10 photos on a tripod, ranging from underexposed to overexposed. Then sick some software on those ten photos, which spits out one HDR.

Keep in mind HDR stands for High Dynamic Range and should be used in situations where you have strong highlights and deep shadows. It is kind of a fad with many and some very weird results are being passed off as "an HDR." You can also with Photomatix use a single image and it will create a tonemapped image by creating separate images. See the tutorial on the site.

Had the car washed but it looks like the storm coming over the mountains may mess it up... but those clouds and rain never made it.

Thanks Chris... this is the second snow event at RR this season. The last one was a lot more snow, but this one has been for about 4 days of rain and just lousy weather and really strong winds.
