They don't really bother me but I would prefer them not being there. Just interferes with the lines and flow of the design. They have become the subject of all the MB forums on this site at one time or another.

This is my toy,, its one of the first but loaded and low miles.
It had the alli trim, but that looked cheap, so I bought a walnut set including the steering wheel and re finished in piano black

actually i hate them too, but... they r thick plastic to cover the headlights from rock damage at 300 kmph:P i will be removing them soon and look for clear ones...

Jack your putting some miles on the SL. I bought mine last January and now have 6700, but I doubt I will be putting many more miles on until spring. Enjoy that nice weather you have in Nevada.
