New Wheels

Hi,
These are the first pictures I've ever posted. I just got new AMG Replica Wheels. I know this is a sin but they look great IMHO and the price was right.

very nice car but honestly for a car that is this nice and $$$$, it doesnt do it any justice by having replica AMG wheels on it, spend the $$$$ and get the real ones....but first get those 3 "V12 bi-turbo" badges off the car, its overkill

I knew I would get reprimanded by some. Many of you are very passionate about light forged wheels. I almost got a set of Maya MRS's but instead got these and I am very happy with them. The store I bought the wheels from sells every major brand and they have nothing but good things to say about this wheel. The wheels have a 100% warranty for 1 year from the store. The weight of the front was 29lbs and the rear was 32lbs. Not too bad. I personally think the whole forged wheel thing is way overrated. The car drives great, handles better then with my 18's, and tracks almost perfectly straight. I think these wheels weigh less then my stock wheels.

I hear what you are saying about the V12 badges. Probably is overkill. I guess I'm an SL65 want a be. I personally think they look cool but I agree it is a bit gaudy.

yeah...i hear you on the wheels, it not that big of a deal...and regarding the badging since you have the V12 bi-turbo on the fenders and intend on keeping it there, taking off the "V12" from the side vents would help reduce the overkill

I actually may take off the badges on the fenders. I'm still debating this. What I may do is get rid of the V12 badges and place the Biturbo badges in its place on the side vents. It hides it a little and makes it look not as loud. I like the V12 Biturbo on the back so I may just get rid of the ones on the side completely. Thanks for the imput.

Replica wheels, on a $140,000+ car!

Are those dual V12 badges on your fenders?

Hey, to each his own.

- my $0.02

Hey we are all a bit . I still don't regret getting these wheels! I get compliments all the time on the look and the car rides great with them. I hear what you are saying because the car is expensive but these wheels are actually very good. They are just not expensive. You wouldn't even notice the difference between these on or a forged pair of the same size. I couldn't justify spending over double the amount for no real world benefit. Yes I'm sure forged wheels are overall better but I'll bet it is insignificant for the way I drive. I don't go to the track and around town they feel even better then my stock wheels.

Yes there are dual V12 badges. I was going to take off the ones on the side grill but they are not very noticeable so I decided to play it by ear if I remove them or not. I've asked many people that see my car in person and all have told me to leave both badges. It really doesn't look bad when you see it. I'm still debating if I want to take off the side grill V12 Badges. Just my $0.02.

geez guys give him break! Car looks good..
I wouldnt pay what MB wants for their two piece wheels, for that kind of money you can get HRE's.

Id loose the small V-12 emblem.. I like the Bi-turbo ones.

Thanks for the advice. Your car also looks great! You unlike me have real rims.

By the way how did you like the supercharged G35. I almost bought one with the plan of upgrading the engine using the Vortech supercharger or the Greddy twin turbo kit. I ended up getting a great deal on a 2003 CL55 so I bought this instead. Just curious? I think with the right upgrades the Infiniti looks amazing.

Exactly, for crying out loud. The car looks nice. I would ditch the rear V12 emblem but I think the others are fine. As for the replicas, who cares. Whenever I see a really nice high-end car with rims, I could care less about what kind they are. I will call out a car with some ugly authentic Lowenhart LSR's before I call out a nice car with replica LDR's. I'll get some pics up next week after 2007 AMG tails/clear third brake light are installed.

2003 Sl500
Hello, Im new to the Forums.

I just purchased my SL500 this week. Traded in my 1999 Porsche 911 C4 for it. I decided on Red due to there not being a lot of them in my area, and my two best friends have white ones. I wanted silver to start with, but once I saw the red up close (not in a photo) I was amazed at how sporty it made the car look.

Stats:

2003 SL500
Stock
27k miles

I hope to gain a lot of good information from the Forums, thanks in advance.
