Worst Color?
Everyone has their own tastes, of course, but this color does not press my buttons.

beautiful Launch Edition color
This color - Designo metallic is really beautiful--it is the only color of ALL Launch Editions (initial limited editions) of the 2003 SL 500. These models wil be future classics. I enjoy asking auto color fanatics to describe it----usually it is champagne metallic--but if one surrounds it with different light, sky, and ground surfaces--one can see hints of beige, orange, sage green, silver, and grey hues ----------a truly beautiful combination. After owning this limited launch edition car for over 4 1/2 months, I am constantly receiving compliments from a lot of persons about the beautiful color, as well as the beautiful car design--a piece of moving art!

I have to agree with the original poster that the color doesn't add to the beauty of the car from the photo but I will reserve final judgement if I see one it the metal.

the color isn't horrible by any stretch, but i for one know that it'd grow negatively on me over time. i had a chance to pick up one of the launch editions and the color really turned me off after spending some time really staring at it.
of course the damn silver cars are just a wee bit too ubiquitous now. no imagination :-)
guess that's why they're offered in more than one color - to each their own.
that said, i seriously doubt that those launch editions will become anything like a collector's item. remember, MB flooded the market with them. and the trim level wasn't optimal, to boot.
