Mod Advice??

My dad just picked up a sl600 for he and I do toy around in this summer and I want to get some mods I need some advice.

Wheel size:

I was thinking about these sizes let me know what you guys think and if they will work

option 1: 20x11(rear) 19x9(front)
option 2: 20x11(rear) 20x8.5(front)
option 3: 19x11(rear) 19x9(front)

Will all those work? Is 20 too big for this car?

I'm also getting a cargraphic lowering module so keep that in mind.

Get 20's for front and rear. Preferably with deep lips. The ride does not suffer much but the looks is awsome. Fits nicely in the sheel well. Good luck!

I'd stay with 19's. IMHO, 20s are a little too much...looks, well too "bling."

Wow, I cannot believe you are rocking replica Brabus Monoblock 6's..

I would say more, but I can't wait to hear your excuses.

My choice would be the solution with 20 x 11 rear and 19 x 9 front. It gives the car a more racing look. Some supercars have this combination as Stock.

A another advantage is the fact that 19 in front are less prone to damage due to high speed cornering, and holes in the road.

In fact i have just recieved my own new set of wheels from RHE, polished, whitch is the above combination, fitted with Conti tyres. I will post a picture as soon as they are fitted.

I think you'll probably be first in the country with that setup. Never seen it before on an SL. Post pictures when you can, I want to see what it looks like.

I've seen it on a SL w/ Lowenharts.....looked ok because it was lowered...

JL88 or anyone:
On a non AMG 05 SL how low should I go front and rear, when having the dealer play with the computer ride height, so that I wont get bad inner tire with my 20's...My R129 SL was lowered and I went through tires every few months due to its height and butterfly effect.

Thanks

The biggest setting you can sensibly consider is:
9Jx20 for front axle, tires 245/35 ZR 20 FA
10.5Jx20 for rear axle, tires 305/25 ZR 20 RA
