Could you confirm your friend's SL550 has the AMG sport package.
Also, the wheels that are included with the 2007 package.

it looks like the same rear, sides, just a different front bumper.. i'm not sure about the clear lights on the black sl.. i think the amg ones on the black sl smoked out definately look much better.. but on a color like white i'm sure it'd be much nicer...

ya, i'm happy to see that there was such a minor change to the styling..

looks great though. i agree, the tail lights look a little off, quite a contrast (at least in the pic) the 55/65s look so much better. and the black interior is nice... i've been stuck with the charcoal ont my last couple of benzs and always like the way BMWs look with that real black interior. just looks so clean.

i'm not sure how i feel about the new fog lights with that chrome rim... one of the things i like about the sl is the lack of chrome. but i'll let you guys know once i see one in person... since i know just how much you're dying to get MY take on it - hahaha

I saw a white sl55 amg at the dealership.. $140k.. compared it to mine.. eh it was nice, but nothing crazy different or special.. the only real difference which offset the car imho was the nice 19" CLS style 5 spoke wheels... other than that, very very minor modifications.. the front end.. it's subtle.. i don't think anyone but hardcore mercedes enthusiasts will notice the differences...

The car is equipped with sport package/AMG wheels. He got $500 off and paid $115K out the door. Is that a good deal? I tried to talk him into the SL55 but he doesn't care too much about HP

That's it. Only the front bumper changed. I do like it better than the old one. A bit more defined and wider, but still very subtle.
And yes, the SL55 tail lights still look the best! Having switched to a silver 600, I can't wait to get the 07 tail lights. The old ones are simply too, how shall I say it, too RED

I'm not crazy about the chrome rimmed fog lights either. The tail light lenses with white look good on the 50th anniversary edition color but on the black I'm nort so sure. I'm very happy however that MB is making subtle changes each year to one of the most elegant and beautiful cars ever made IMHO. More power to all of you no matter what year!

Looks good, but I still love the 03's lights, but I gotta say the front bumper looks nice.
