SL/R230: "Winding Down" Sound

"Winding Down" Sound
What is that "winding down" sound when I turn off the engine of my SL500? Someone suggested that it is the turbo charger. I am not sure that my car is turbo charged, but it sure is a cool sound. It sounds like a space ship. The only thing missing is that vacuum pressure sound when I open the car door.

I didn't think my car had a turbo charger, but the sound puts a smile on my face everytime I turn the engine off. It sounds like a jet engine winding down.
