SL/R230: Confirmation Chirp

That happened to me on my initial visit. After a 2nd visit along with instructions, they got it to work but unfortunately at the expense of disabling my pass side mirror back up function.
I think your tech just didn't want to spend the time to take care of you as I am sure he could have gotten it to work if he really wanted to.

That sucks so in order to chirp the car you had to disable the side mirror back up function? So its basically a give and take on doing it!

Meegle you may be right...I actually took a print out of the instructions you posted on this thread (from damaged) and gave it to the service rep and explained what I wanted.....only reason I would believe the tech not being able to do it would be that my rep was saying how they've done the chirp for E-classes but with the SL's they cant do it 
...maybe ill call the dealer and speak directly with a tech and see what they have to say

Well at least you got your car fixed and everything is working properly again.Keep us posted on your findings from what the tech stated.

My 03 used to chirp but the dealership in Belmont CA removed it when I took my car in and wouldnt (or couldnt) put it back. Now I am chirpless
Oh wait...I forgot to mention that they told me I was nuts when I told them my car used to beep before. They said it wasnt possible???? Needless to say I wont go back there.

hey Guys, The chirp can be activated on all R230's just as i explained to "meagle" it takes some fishing and can be done, but you should not have lost reverse mirror setting, that is in a different system (eis and ic) and should not be effected by and alarm setting.
