My wife had been set on black until she saw a storm red SL. Sold the CL in June and still haven't replaced it yet. The golf cart is indeed my main form of transportation (around the community) other than that we have several other non-MB vehicles that we drive.

We have simular stories then, I also moved out young 16 but took me longer to get there than you as my first benz was at 24 and only a c220. lol

Hope I didnt offend you, but 3 of the cars listed on my profile I rarely drive in fact I bought them for my kids.
maybe that would make a good thread, how many of you paid for your own cars?? or maybe not. lol

It was nice that they took the time to explain, and still enjoy it.

How old are your kids? at 33 you sure got a head start on the rest of us.
I'm in my mid 30's and my wife is 31 and we still haven't gotten our first child yet.

I think it is safe to say we all have paid for our cars here.....I'm sure at least the people around my age on the board here have (cy0811, seattle, mrdredd). I just don't get why you were ready to criticize mrdredd it seemed when you have done the same thing for your kids?

Just because we are 20-25 doesn't mean we can't provide for ourselves or make money.

I had no intentions to criticizing anyone for there accomplishments, I simply stated that I had not asked the question, because I just assumed the parents paid for the cars like we did for our kids.

My parents could not afford to buy me a car of any kind, so growing up that way and now paying for everything and anything our kids ask for I have been on boths sides.

Meegle, my wife still wants your Sl, she just loves the color.

I do have a head start, My son is 16 and I have 2 step daughters that have lived with me since I was 21, one is 18 and the other will be 21 next month and it is hard to explain, but while my friends are starting there family's now and giving up much of there personal time taking care of there kids, we hang out with ours like you would with a friend not a kid.

I enjoy sharing time on the seadoo's, atv's, and camping and doing things that when I was 21 my dad was no longer into.

Come to think about it if I didnt have the kids, I could have bought something better than a C class at 24. lol

I must applaud you and your wife for being able to raise 3 kids and still have your sanity. We're practicing with two puppies and that already is a hand full.
Like you, we take them out on our seadoo's as well
