since we're on the subject of dogs, I couldn't resist sharing my two bundles of joy with the group.

38 years old. I can't believe I'm 38!! Time just flys by as you get older it seems. Almost time for my midlife crisis! I got the car now I need to find the 20 something year old woman. I'm glad my wife doesn't read the forum !

Mine like to play also but with live snakes unlike the toy variety that yours enjoy. Unfortunately, they may encounter the "wrong" snake one of these days

Just turned 60.
The kids are on their own, then had to marry the right woman ...she convinced me to get the E55 (I got out of an SHO). Then she talked me into trading her SLK320 on the SL550.
Its so good to be in the "spending phase" instead of the "saving phase".

Cruising on a freeway at 100+ MPH the car was absolutely stable as can be and the seats were like sitting in an armchair. I'm sure that quite a bit of the comfort was due to the hydropneumatic suspension. The suspension allowed you to toss the thing through twisties that was almost unbielevable for a car that was over 4,000 pounds. Some of the more interesting things on the car were the dry sump oil system that was not ordinarily found on a big sedan and the electronic climate control system (keep in mind this was almost 30 years ago). Again at WOT there was a fair amount of engine noise but it was music to your ears.
The real enjoyment of the car was when some youngster would pull up to you at a stop light and you knew they were going to try to "blow your doors off" when the light would turn green. Much to their dismay and my delight was when they ended up being the ones sans doors.
This truly was a car ahead of its time but by today's standards it probably would be classified as crude. This is one that I wished I had kept.

I am 58 and have the Designo Graphite 2007 SL600 shown in a recent posting. Previously I owned 2 other new SL's, one a 1998 black/black, the other a 2004 silver/ash. Wish I could have afforded an SL in my 20's or 30's but it is never too late to enjoy a great convertible roadster!

The question is "why does it matter?"
We all love our cars, hate the MB service departments, and look for better advice here than we can get there.
I am sure that the average age is also a little skewed due to the fact we are on a forum on the internet. I just appreciate everyone's helpfulness with issues.

That car was one of my favorites. When driven normally it was like any other long wheel base MB sedan. At full throttle from a stop the car was an absolute screamer due to the torque that seemed to be always there. With the torque the 3 speed automatic was more than capable (today with 7 and 8 speed trannies this seems antiquated)

21 - I just paid for my 05 SL600 yesterday, its getting delivered thursday or friday of next week. Shipping it from a dealer in Tacoma. Hard to come by a clean white on red SL600, but I finally did.
I paid for it with my own cash, none from mommy or daddy.
I'll get pics up as soon as it arrives, im going crazy waiting. They were suppoised to ship it out today, but it cant leave till monday because of the dam holiday. Oh well, at least its a REAL holiday, not some bull**** holiday like labor day...
