Replacing Battery?
Has anybody ever replaced the battery on the SL? I was quoted around $400dollars for some black gell starter battery. I was wondering if it is possible to just get a non-mercedes battery.

No, I haven't but I am interested inknowing when your 2003 SL was delivered. I want to know how long to expect mine should last. I got my car from a friend who took delivery of it in September 2002.

One of the smartest things you can do when replacing a battery is to
call Mercedes Roadside Assistance 1-800-222-0100
They will come out with a new battery and do it at your place for about
half what the dealer charges. On my CL500 it was $ 125.00. Includes the labor and is about 20 Minutes. Such a deal !!!!!

you're right bltserv, I called up roadside and they quoted me 205 for a new battery and installation. That would be a good idea if my car was not in a dealer. To get my car out of the dealership would cost me 120 + rental. Right now, either way will cost me. All I can do now is put on some lipstick and bendover for mercedes.

Damn really its that much of a difference and they come out to you? Damn thats a deal!!! Ill remember that if I ever get to that point. Good Looking out.
