never ride on a SL in my life.
i only like the SL55 AMG but that is 2.2million here (usd 270K).
I would take a 997 Turbo for that money.
The SL seats should be more comfortable than a entry level E-class.
Fun to drive? If that is my car, it is always fun to drive.

my c55 is 120K in HK, it is 300K in Thailand.
The big poor and rich gap in Thailand means those who can afford an AMG are very happy to be ripped by government. Rich people always like to buy things others could not afford.

Just look at the skid pad test. I think the E55 was a .84 and the SL55 was a .92. It is definitely a sedan versus a sports car. What good is 497 hp if you can't do abything but a straight line?

A good example is you can see horrible price gap of the mid-end but sporty SLK280 (Thailand vs HongKong). Once it is listed as a sport and with a engine displacement of 3+ litre, it will be a nightmare.
If you take into the account that average income in HK is on top of Asia vs Thailand's in the very low-end. This tells the very big gap of rich and poor in Thailand.

$450,000 for an SL55...wow. And to think, they are being purchased in the $70,000 range here. I think some of these Tai SL55 boys need to move to the United States and pick up an SLR.

it might be for a lot less, but is it an exact replicia...e.g. do the replicia also have the four blue lights in the side skirts ( http://www.brabus-online.de/prog10e.htm ) where can you buy it ?
Thanks.
Thanks.

He was right. We were referring to large displacement models, or considered "sporty" imported versions cars. Imported cars, reach 3 litre, or any models which being considered as "sports", the tax will be exponential.

Several MB's Superperformance MK III Cobra
I have both the SL55 and E55 and have to say the SL is more fun especially since I modded the car with RennTech upgrades. In stock form the E is a blast since it is such a sleeper. Recently without my wife in the car a Corvette wanted to play from a stoplight. We probably went a little less than a 1/4 mile until we reached the next light (fortunately no other cars on the road). I had him by a number of car lengths. When we stopped he rolled down his window and asked "What the hell is that thing" to which I replied a 12 second grocery getter.
