*Lease Assumption******2005 White/Stone SL500********

2005 SL500 current mileage just under 10k
-Keyless Go
-Wood trim pkg
-Bi-Xenons
-Panoramic roof

-19 months left on the lease with just about 1500 miles per month for the remaining months
-$1177 monthly payment (after $5k incentive)
- Never driven in snow / salted road conditions (just thought I'd add that last part )

PM me or leave a post if interested...

BTW: anyone know what kind of early termination fee I'd face if I decide to simply cancel the lease (even if its a ballpark figure please post)?

2003 Sl500
I think that the only way you can "cancel" the lease is to pay the remaining payments, so 19 payments.

What's this? Get rid of your car! I said that the reason I got my White/Stone
is because I love yours. I want to post photos of mine, but am having trouble adding a photo. Guess I will have to sit down and spend some time. Any hints on easy photo posting?

GL is a little too big, I was thinking along the lines of a Range Rover HSE, or possibly an Audi A8 short wheelbase (if I go with a sedan)

...dont get me wrong I'd definately go with an ML if it came in a 550 but since it doesnt Im passing on it and looking at the Range (though the things are poorly built)
....and I would go for an S550 4matic over the A8, but for 1 itd barely fit in my garage (dont ask) and 2. its much more than I possibly need right now

The Range Rover would be a nice choice. A friend has a sport edition and it has a very clean sense of style. How many kiddos (age) are you driving?

It would be...but right now I'm trying not to get TOO ahead of myself as I still face the task of getting someone to take the SL out of my hands ....o and both kids are in college

So, why let it go? Two seats and a wife. Life is good. Except for the college tuition.

Not prying, you understand, but it's such a beautiful ride. Best of turnover luck to you.

If it's an option, why not get rid of your wife's vehicle? assuming of course that it's too small and you need a larger vehicle.

crb49: the old ML I have is soon to be on its last leg and the fact that she doesn't like driving the SL & my being out of town all the time, makes it the best option to get the SL out

meegle: her car, a 98 ML, will get me all of 8k (if that) so I figure it might as well be kept for the winter and to move things around...I figure getting out of the SL = more money to spend on either a Range Rover or possibly an Audi A8

she's the SUV type...the SL is too flashy and requires extra attention wherever you go (parking etc)

Soooo, you do exactly what you're doing and buy the SUV. Kudos to you. I'm sure it'll come back to you when you least expect it. Just be sure to get in some quality miles before it goes. BTW, did I miss it or:

(1) How many miles now?

(2) What's the final buyout?

Yeah I went by the Land Rover dealer today, they have one 2006 RR left with msrp of 77k that they are selling for atleast 9k off, meaning I could get it for around 64k if not lower with some haggling (the rest were 2007 aka not as much discount)...

1. 9800-9900 miles

2. 58k (which definately can be negotiated down come the end of the lease which should be shortly before the release of the next gen SL)

Good numbers.

I would think local contacts would be your best bet. Once they see the car live, they've got to be interested if they're in the market at all. Are you in a pretty populated area?

Again, things have a habit of all coming together at the right time.

speak of the devil...I recieved an email from swapalease this morning with news of a possibly interested buyer from the site who is actually an hour away from me ...this may be just what I needed, I'm going to cross my fingers and hope it is

and to answer your question..I live in Jersey it's certainly populated I'd say
