Diamond Silver?

I have not seen Diamond Silver on a vehicle and wonder how it compares to Brilliant Silver. The 03 SL brochure sample looks like the same color as Brilliant Silver, but with more metallic sparkle. Would appreciate comments from those who have seen DS or pics of the SL in the color.

I have Diamond Silver. The color is a bluish silver. Originally I thought it was too blue but now I am glad I bought it. I have received a number of positive kudos on the car but also the color.

I would go with Diamond silver. There are fewer of them on the road and I think it sparkles more than brilliant silver.

Thank you for your comments. I suspected that it had a bluish tinge, but metallic finishes can show quite differently in different light and the paint chips are not terrible helpful. If you are in South FL, you may see another SL in Diamond Silver in a few months, as my wife is leaning towards that color. I will encourage her to consider Berry Red for the interior and will get the Sport option, among others.

this should help

scroll down and go to the tellur silver SL (the name used for diamond silver in europe) and it has the AMG body...looks great, but I think berry red would clash with the blue hue too much, I like it with the interior it has in the pics

MB dealer near to me had a Tellur (Diamond) Silver SL500 as a demo car for a couple of months. The bluish tinge looked great when it had just been cleaned but unlike Brilliant Silver which looks good in any light and when not so clean, the Diamond tended to look muddy with even just a small amount of traffic dust.

I agree with nabzy and think berry red would clash. I personally dont like a black interior but if you do this would work. The blue leather is very dark (almost black) and might be a good choice too - I assume you can get blue leather in the US.

European brochures ave a matrix of recommended external and internal color combinations and berry red is only recommended with brilliant silver and black. I think the best color with Diamond Silver is graphite.

Ask to see a chip of silver arrow silver code 777. Its special order only in the UK. Its like brill silver but slightly brighter and it has no yellow content. It looks brighter and has nore sparkel to it.

Dimond Silver with Berry Red

The two go together great. There is no clash. Any concern about the hint of blue in the silver clashing with berry red is mooted by the fact that only the seats and lower areas are red with the upper portion being graphite along with the wood being restricted to the black wood when you option for berry red.
