04 SL 500, 09 R350, 09 E63, 2010 Prius
Renntech Stage3 Upgrade

Anyone who got the Rennteck Stage 3 done with the supercharger, I/C going to 440hp? Want to do mine too sometime. Wondering what you think of the feel afterwards? any thoughts on transmission and exhuast compatibility with the upgrade? and most of all.. what's the cost for that upgrade? Thanks!

The cost is about $16,000 without installation.

I don't have the upgrade myself, but I've talked to folks who have done it (or similair to it) and they love it. Although it's not SL55AMG, it sure is a different beast.

If I remember right MSRP is 15,900$ but I think if you messaged request@euroteckmotorsports.com they could massage a deal out for you.

He'd get about 50k$ for his car, give or take a few grand (really really quick ebay check) + 15k$ for the s/c and what not = 65k$ total
SL55 on ebay (really really quickly checking again) = 2003's are going for 60k$
2003's are hell... so lets jump to a 2005 which is about 85-90k$

Maybe in the end, when all is said and done -- I guess assuming total cost of ownership and what not. When you mod a car, you don't get the value of the mods back, so that's something to consider as well.

And the SL55 is more powerful than the SL500 with s/c not to mention the SL55 is open to more modification (pulley's, chip, etc).

I just bought an '03 SL55 this weekend. Fully loaded with every option, pano roof, keyless go, ventilated seats, etc. Miles are a little high at 49k......but it was only $53,000.

Thanks for all the feedback. So, around $16K for the S/C... how much for the install? Total package around 20k? Yes, I do regret not getting the SL55 3 years ago. However, couldn't afford it at the time and didn't know how much the difference would really mean... until now.. wish I had more horses! So, since I am too attached to my SL500 with all the mods I have in it already, I'll have to do the S/C to get it close to AMG performance).

To tell you the truth, I don't really know. I bought the car as a birthday gift for my girlfriend and only drove it for 5 min test drive. She will be out of town this weekend, so I will pick it up then and take it to a friends house to store it.

I have a couple of months to mod it up.

My Viper is more on the radical side putting down 650 rwhp N/A and almost 800 on the gas.

Eric,

I agree 100%. AMG's are on the FLOOR right now... You can have your pic + get more of the options you wanted too...

Take off your wheels, sell the car (easier cause it's less $$), and get a 55

wish it was that easy... If you guys check out the list of mods I have in that car already... can't possibly get rid of it... Carlsson front Spoiler, Lorinser rear lip, smoked AMG tails, AMG brakes front and back, Reus audio, DVD/TV set up with 04 COMMAND, blue LED undercarriage and interior cabin spotlights that dance to my tunes... dude man, that's $50,000 of mods already... so, what's another 20k for an S/C right? ha! (sad pathetic laugh at own crazyness... )
Maybe I'll do a stage 4 and bore out the engine to 5.5L! just kidding!
