AMG smoked tail light lenses
I've decided to swap my '03 red tail light lenses for AMG smoked lenses.
Are there any differences in the AMG lenses between '03 and '07 model
years?

07 ML63 Silver Dead at 85k, 14 RS5, 05 SL600
Should be no problem at all. I just replaced the all red 2005 SL600 rear lights with the 07 AMG rear lights. I was told 03-07 are interchangable and it seems to be true.

I changed my red 02 too AMG 07 a few weeks ago.
Pure plug and play. But on the 07 the plug was upside down compared to the 02
But it was not a problem 
If You do a search on this forum You will find instuctions with a PDF file for print-out.
Easy install, took about one hour.

If you are really pickey, you will want to buy the '07-'08 (red) center brake light to match, as it is also slightly more translucent.

Yes. Regarding the '07-'08 amg rear lights.. they appear to have used more LED's than bulbs, the center smoke is slightly less dark and the red portion of the lens is slightly more translucent.
If you are really pickey, you will want to buy the '07-'08 (red) center brake light to match, as it is also slightly more translucent.

FYI about the center brake light.. the dedicated '07-up SL55/65 cars came with a "very lightly smoked, but clear" center brake light (shines red when lit).. so if you want the red lens center brake light, you need the '07-'08 SL550/600 center brake light.

Need help with 3rd brake light
Anyone know where to buy the high mount rear light? Or as the normal name of 3rd brake light???? I can not find this anywhere and Parts.com does not even list the SL... PLEASE HELP!

I was going to tell you to go to parts.com and tell you to enter 2007 SL and choose High mount stop light w/SL65, but your right, they changed there web site and SL's are not even listed anymore. Sent an e-mail to John in customer service, I'll let you know if I receive any info back. To the other poster about price, I think I paid like 115 plus shipping.

Hey thank you for the info... Is the 07 the same light as the 08 Sl 550? I can not find this replacement anywhere. I just need the red one as I am not looking for the smoked... Anyone have nay info?

I replaced my high mount with the SL65 clear/light smoked. I have the red oem one but when I removed it there's a foam gasket around it that got torn. I'm sure someone could make one or the dealer sells it. If this is what your looking for, let me know and I,ll send it to you for the cost of shipping, probably like 10 dollars. I have no use for it and it's just sitting in garage.

I changed the taillights on my 2005 SL500 to the 07 SL type with the clear middle. Not an easy job. Which 3rd brake light do I want to match? Is it hard to change out? Thanks.
