honestly as a dealer, Id tell you to pay no more than 60K for a 600. Most dealers try to stay away from the v12's as their repairs are pretty costly second hand once the warranty is up, and the v12 is generally more prone to trouble at higher miles. The car itself is fine but the problem is most v12's end up in the hands of rich people who are just that, rich, they're not enthusiats and don't really care for the engine as they should. The amg versions end up with enthusiasts most of the time and end up well cared for. This is a fact and most dealers know that. Plus the '04 has the old indash display pony up a few K more for an '05 and get the updated dash, itll help alot in 2-3 years whenever you choose to sell the car.

Anyone have any good aftermarket warranties they would recommend?
derrick_lui: off topic, but I noticed you have a Valentine as well as a K40 radar detector. I had a K40, had problems, they wouldn't stand behind their warranty, so I got rid of it. I now have a escort Passport 7 (modular) and like it. What are your thoughts on the Valentine unit?

if you're not in a hurry i would wait until after the facelift for the price to come down more,
as well as making sure all the options i want, color combos, are the ones i get, no skimping allowed

Valentine one is the best, it does need to be serviced once in my experience but they did it free under warranty.

K40's range is shorter than the valentine one by a large margin....

However, upon reading the fine print of the aftermarket warranty, I found that it did not cover any parts of a convertible roof at all. I don't know that much about what goes wrong with these cars yet, but that roof system is the one thing that I worry about.

I've had good luck with dealers so far with replacing parts, though. The Rover dealer took it down the block to the car's original dealer for a simple balance and alignment on their dime as part of the sale and the dealer replaced all the cam bolts in the suspension, as well as replacing the body computer. I took the car in for a free/covered service last week and I ended up with some new roof panel parts and the driver's side outboard HVAC vent being replaced.

I figure that I'll take it back another time or two for misc stuff before the warranty is up next year and see mow many other things they find before I buy a warranty.

Has anyone found one that includes the roof?
I found one through Mercury that includes the roof motor, but not the convertible top itself or parts (arms, etc.) It's their platinum coverage.
