SL/R230: Window tinting probs?
I'm thinkin' 'bout tintin' my windows...
BUT, people who is going to do that, they are telling that they have to remove panels froms doors and etc...
Is it OK, or it good be made as it is with no removments?
Coz, i'm a lil bit confused about windows using later: rain, snow and wind common to interior through spaces which could turn up after tinting?
Thank you.
Pannels may need to be removed so that the tint film can be applied all the way to the edges propperly. This removal is just for the application of the tint, and will be re-installed after the tint is applied. Once the tint film has completely dried on to the glass, the window will function exacty the same... just as it did before the tint. If you never had a problem with rain, snow and wind before... you wont have it after the tint is on. The tint film itself is a fraction of a mm, and that tiny hairline of thickness added to the glass wont make a difference since the weather stripping around the glass is all rubber. If anything, it should make the seal with the weather stripping even tighter. I hope I answered your question.
I will try to find someone, as you gyus told me, that it could be done without removal, cause it looks better for me...
I'm always afraid removing door panels, because in a result they become noisy and etc. You know, what is done in MB is done better, in my own opinion, but maybe there is a chance that everything gonna be fine.. Don' know what to decide on.
aM... Maybe you can suggest what tint % to put on? Because in our country it's illegal, but i have white interrior, so it will not drop so much into police eyes, anyways i want something stylish... Thinking bout 50% (Sides) 65% (Back) OR 65% (Sides) 80% (Back)...

Tint: %?
I'm thinking to make it nicely looking, to put on rear 80% and sides 60-70%.
Maybe someone has photos how their tinted rides looks with opened roof and closed one?
Thanks
