I have a 2005 SL500. My lease expires in October. Does anybody have any idea what I can expect for a lease renewal rate if I decide to keep the car another year or two? I am currently paying $1300.

(When the lease on my last BMW expired, they actually wanted more for me to renew!)

for that kind of money and if you are planning on keeping it why not finance?

I rarely keep a car very long. Unless the new lease rate is a lot lower, I will just get a new car.

I understand why Benz won't discuss lease renewals before 90 days of expiration but and consistently confused and frustrated why they resist re-amortizing the recapture cost to reduce monthly payments. I know they want to sell/lease new cars but only threatening to go to another vendor and getting the daelership involved has helped in the past.

I've got an S500 coming due in Feb. 010 and not looking forward to it again as I would like to keep this car. Any suggestions?
