omg your *******g right it looks just like the sebring!!! I dont like it.....they should have put a new rear etc......the silver pics with the AMG kit are alright but not as good looking as the current SL but the maroon pics and the dark blue ones are awful it looks really ugly......One thing is i like the new steering wheel and the interior.....so these must be the official pics then?? right???

Nice update - love the front, wish they could have done more in the back, but nice nontheless. Interior update is great too. Count me as one who doesn't see the Sebring in the design.

Ugly. Our cars' look better. Those headlights and grille are horrible. They didn't change much else besides that....the casual person will never know the difference between a 2003 and 2009.

Current SL design is much better. Mix of Classic-auto look (round headlights, hood) and modern style. Truly sophisticated design.
I would never buy this new 2009 after seeing R230.

I thought Diamler dumped Chrysler. What are these guys thinking. Looks like the new SL is a dud.

yeah i read the article in the other forum and they said that this body design is retro.....I think ours are more retro and look more like the the gullwing SLs more than this one does....this new one reminds me of my grandfathers '81 SL............

I don't like it at all! The car looks really cheap with those headlights and grille. It seems like they took away the sportiness of the car altogether - that front end design looks too much like other cars on the road...
I'll take my '04 any day over that...

Clearly a step back in the looks department. Ugly... no. To say that would be like saying our cars are ugly. Both are very similar. Side by side, I'll take the current version with no second thoughts.
We'll see how the AMG versions look...

Dude the point is: even if the new front end looks good, they shouldnt have just plastered it on the 2003-2008 model body. The rest of the car looks dated...its just a tacky thing to do to a flagship benz. Again imagine a 2000 CL500 or 2000 S500 with a 2009 Cl550 or S550 front end, but the rest of the car left the same as the 2000 model.

need to see it in person - everyone hated on the S redesign when it was in pictures only...and that grill is VERY retro SL. Check out a late 50's (1957) SL. You'll see that it has the single bar across the front of the grille - along with the grilles on the front quarter panels and the bumps on the hood.
