Was talking to someone awhile back about the WALD kit on R230, said i would post pics so here she is... sl55 had to convert to sl500 bumpers which wasnt cheap, and also included is a pic of her little friend my s13 =) had to post em together

 

Why Would One Ever Convert an SL55 AMG Front to an SL500 Non-AMG Front... Just To Have a Wald Kit???

Negative!...The Stock AMG Sides Are Way HOTTER...
This Kit Is Not Made For The AMG Series... Wald Specifically States This...Even They Agree!

 

IMO Wald is the best looking kit for SL and definately will put it on my future car as soon as I will buy it

 

Not feeling it either...AMG kit just looks sooo much cleaner.

 

hey sirfong......I posted a thread back acouple of months ago about the wald kit because i was interested in it....how does it fit and how much did it cost you for parts and labor??????

 

I like the kit. I wouldnt go as far as getting rid of my AMG for it but its different.

 

I have to agree that the AMG kits look a better on the car.

 

I like the Wald design, but the subtle fit issues make it look like a tacked on kit.

 

well the reason why I bought an SL was because of the wald kit. Saw Jonaris black one and fell in love. They were actually selling it at the time but it was an sl500. I wanted the power and brakes etc... so I bought an SL55 but I had to have the wald kit =) she fits well. everyone who has an SL has the AMG package, so for the sake of being the other guy... and the kit i got for cheap from a friend but im not sure what it retails for, installing was done by a friend of mines who does hot rods, so that was basically cost of paint only so the part that killed me was finding the friggen factory bumper. If you would like to get the kit and are serious i can talk to my friend and see what another kit would cost. and the side skirts on the Wald are a lot cleaner than amg... my picture doesnt do the kit justice.

how is it installed??? with the double sided tape or with silicone?????

 

no seriously dude the reason i bought the sl was because i saw the Wald SL, otherwise my brother was pushing me to get a Viper. But after I seen Jonaris SL I wanted it. =).

Front lip and rear lip are screwed on with double side tape along the width. the side skirts clip on like the factory ones.

wald for life! =) j/k but i still love my Wald SL55
