TPMS problem

I changed my 2 front tires and now the TPMS stopped working. So i brought it into Mercedes to get it fixed and they told me to also change the back tires or they will not fix anything. I don't understand why changing the rear tires would have anything to do with it. I really don't want to change the rear tires because they have about 70% tread left on them.

Has anyone else had this problem?

What do you mean by not-working? Are you getting an error message? When I was playing with tire pressure awhile back I got an error message and had to reset the TPMS, per the user manual and all was fine afterwards. I've had all 4 tires swapped and that didn't cause any problems. The tire place didn't take off your sensors correct? All four valve stems look the same?

tpms

I am getting a message telling me to reset the tire pressure system . So I reset (according to the manual) and then it goes back to that same message.
All the valve stems look the same to me...
