HELP: IPHONE or IPOD Kit

Members,

I have been searching all over the internet and getting a different answers about the Iphone or Ipod Kit. I own a 2005 SL55 and want to connect my Iphone so I can listen to the music. Does anyone know if this is possible? Is there a OEM kit for this?

And also, does the MB commend unit support mp3 disc?

IPOD

I have a 2005 SL600. My dealer installed an IPOD kit for me. It eliminated the 6 cd changer, but integrates with the command system. I can't operate the ipod from the steering wheel, or see the songs on the instrument display, but it is displayed on the command unit and I can control the ipod from that unit. My son plugged his iphone in (the connection is in the console) and it worked as well. I believe the unit was manufactured by Nav-TV. The installation hasn't been entirely without problems, it it is clearly not OEM, but I'm satisfied with its performance.

IPOD

It was about $800 complete. I don't believe there is any other way, because they have to get into the MOST (I think that is the right term) system, and the CD changer is the easiest, and maybe only way to do it

On 2004 and earlier cars you can just use the AUX input jack.

The bad thing about the 2004 and 2003 SL AUX jacks is that it only uses one side of the bose system. Kind of sucks, but good if you really like music

If you don't want to spend too much money and have a "quick" fix for it. You can use this:

http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/airclick/

I bought this and the mini to mini cable from Radio Shack and have been listening to my IPod ever since. It works great, especially with the Remote. I hide my IPOD in the glove compartment and just fast forward until I get to the song I want.

I can't control from steering wheel nor can I see the song title in the dash but I really don't care.

P.S. I should have seen that it says "Discontinued" on this site. APOLOGIES....

but, I found it here:
