small accident, big problem...
hi all, i had a small accident with m sl 500 
i hit a car infront of me, but not much damage was done or so it seemed...
i think my roll over bar popped up when i hit, and now it doesnt go down.
what do i need to make this work?
i went to the dealer, he told me it will take around 60 KD to check, and 100 kd for parts.... do i even need parts? isnt it some kind of lock on the computer?
what should i do? does anyone know how to fix this, or did it happen to anyone?

If the roll bar automatically deploys, then you have to reset it before it can be lowered. To do this, press the roll bar raise button for a few seconds until you hear a "click". Then you can press the lower button to lower the bar.

They dont have a clue what they are talking about.
All You have to do is what people before suggested.
I had to do it a couple of times when I have been drifting with my car..
I even think its in the manual if You or the MB people care to read it.

i tried it, it wont work, i hear the click, then when i push the "down" button it wont go down
i have a smartop controller should i disable it first?
might it be a problem?

its a "chip" u install wich controls the roof in various ways, like open it while moving, or one touch open/close and stuff like that.

do i have to completly unplug it or just trun it off from the settings??
i switched it off from the settings and it didnt work. i might go for the dealers it my only choice, getting ROBBED!!

what do u mean by lowered the top if u mean that to open the top it won't open if the roll bar is raised and i want to know if anyone had a smart=top moduular and the same problem as mine and i want to know if i need to unplugg it completely to reset the roll bar ii do i just need to turn it off ??

so, in the end i finally desided to go the dealers, charged me 41kd to fix it and they did it, i personally tried EVERYTHING but i was fed up..... so thanx for all the input guys it helped!!
