I thought you'd been scared off with warranty issues -- Would a non OEM exhaust invalidate warranty ?

I'll answer both..

1) Straight pipes, by far the best sounding like an aggressive off shore racing boat when on throttle, but EZ driving has very mellow tolerable tone, ZERO DROAN @ any speed. Any talented exhaust shop can do this for about $500 out the door.

2)I have a 5yr 100k Aftermarket DC warranty, they were totally fine w/this mod NO issues, recently covered about $4k in Warranty work (failed IC/pump/engine mounts/tranny mounts) common w/the 600tt high torque motors..

ie.. Straight pipes = NO mufflers, ask them to fab 3" straight piping from cats to your tipps

The video isn't the best for just hearing the exhaust (cell phone, burn out, etc.), but man it does sound nice. I think I need to find me some quad tips on ebay and find a good local mechanic/body shop...

Wrong engine to Sean Straight piping your 500 will sound a hell of a lot different then doing that to a 600.

You will get droan and it is very loud. I did it to my 500.

Murtaza`s SL500 was Louder than it was fast.

But now Murtaza has joined those of us on the Dark Side.
He has an AMG with a Super Charger.
He is too busy going fast to worry about the sound anymore.
We just want MORE POWER..........

Depends on your personal tolerance......it didn't seem bad at all to me. With a little music on you couldn't tell...

Can't say for other set ups but I straight piped mine with small wadded silences in place of the original back boxes (mufflers?) and it droned like cazy between 1,500 and 3,000 rpm. Hard on the gas and it was great but cruising speeds I couldn't live with it. But as Murtazza says each to his own.

If you want more volume but no drone you're better off cutting open the original back boxes and removing all the baffles and pipe work internally which will give the exhaust gasses room to expand a little more and gets rid of the droning. I did this originally and it was way better but curiosity got the better of me and I had to try the staight pipes.
