SL/R230: Seat & Wheel Movement on Entry & Exit?

Seat & Wheel Movement on Entry & Exit?
I have a 2003 SL500 and I have this feature set to move seat and wheel for easy entry and exit yet it's not working? Is there something more to this then just setting it in the dash controls?

Seat adjust,emts?
How did you "set it"? Mine operates automatically. Did you also assign a "position" like 1, 2 or 3 to your final desired seat adjustmeny position?

First set the seat and wheel to the driving position that you require and then store them to one of the memories.
Then set 'seat and wheel' in the dash display.
the wheel and seat should move when you have switched off the engine and open the door.
If your driving position has the seat too far back or the wheel too high to start with then they will not move.

I have had difficulties with the entry/exit feature periodically. I have found that if If I move the seat to put new CD's in, the seat may not return to memory position 1 exactly in which case the entry/exit feature doesn't operate.
If you push memory 1, let the seat move to its position then try the entry/exit feature after, I believe it will work.
That has worked for me.

On the SL, I have the setting set to Seat & Wheel, but similar to London Lad's statement, the wheel moves barely as it is nearly at maximum height.
