Buying an SL500R, a few questions!?!?!?

Hey guys,

I found a good deal on an SL500R here Canada. It has 48,000Kms(30K miles). I've done lots of reading to inform myself on this beauty, but before I pull the trigger 100%. I know about the common problems with the ABC, but what else should I be looking out for?

It has extended warranty until the end of November, is that a full warranty or just powertrain?

Should I be concerned about the 5peed Auto?

Also what does the "R" mean ?

Thanks
Nick

Sl500R
yup!!!

just got back home with it after 13hrs of driving!!

However, i do have a question;

when I press on the button to recline the backrest, all it does is just move the entire seat forward......is there some sort of function that I dont know about? The buttons on top of the seat (the ones used to slide the seat forward\backward to facilitate loading of parcils) doesn't seem to work either?? Am i doing something wrong? At forst I thought maybe the motor was blown in the seat, but it cant be since the seat tilts forward. once I've tilted it completely forward, then I try to recline it, and it does recline(tilt) the seat back but only to a 90degree angle???? Since I'm a tall guy I would like to recline it to at least 70degrees or so.....

Can anybody help? Has anybody else had this problem?

thanks!!!

Nick

If it has a warranty why don't you take it to a dealer?
