Before I jumped the gun on the tune, I was thinking the exact same thing as you!
Was the $2500 special deal for a 50 HP stage 1? or 127 HP stage 2...and what IF I didnt get the TCU. I know if you read the Kleemann website, it would lead you to think that if you only got the ECU, you are getting a stage 1 upgrade. Keep in mind that the website is the Europe version. I did my due diligence and asked Cory lots of Q's on this....and so to clarify:
Stage 1 (50 HP increase)- not available in the US
Stage 2 (127 increase)- only available tune in the US.
They have sold the stage 2 ECU tune ONLY ($4500) in the US for years until recently they developed and slapped on a TCU tune.
I asked about the power output and tranny limitations if I didnt get the TCU tune, he said that the stock tranny can handle all the torque from the ECU tune and that there are ZERO gains in terms of power from the TCU tune. What it does is it provides more aggresive shift points and shifts much quicker.
Anyways, PM me for details. If you are thinking about getting the tune, do it before 12/31!!

There are Torque Limiters in your TCU, why do you think other tuners w/ECU only fetch 500rwhp but only get 600 rwto, NOT 680-700 Kleemann/renntech get after TCU..
VRP/Powerchip tried & got the 500rwhp+ but RWTO was limited to 600 due to NO TCU program..
The TCU upgrade is much more than setting shift parameters ie firmer etc..

I'll dig up some threads for you & send them via pm, please go get Dyno'd asap NOTE lots of places will not be able to get a Torque reading it is very difficult on the 600/65 models, go to a shop that knows these cars & chk your RWTO
I don't think Cory meant to misinform you, he's a good guy...just misunderstanding

I watched th pics again...
What the hell did it costs you just to put a plastic bag under the tree to protect the car.
You attitude is an insult to people like me who can't afford a SL600.
I am angry against you

If I Had to have a tree & my only option was to use the SL600 like a saw-mill floor, I would....
A) Make the girlfriend surrender her coat to protect my true mistress
B) Give the girlfriend bus-fare & have her deliver the tree

lol, actually I was driving slow...no spinning tires, not only didn't wanna scratch the car but didnt want to tree to fall off.
I would've used my jeep if I knew I was gonna get the tree, but then saw some people selling trees on the sidewalk and couldn't resist.
I've had more stares tonight ever!
