I don't doubt it's fast, I just know his 600 was faster. Basically, I just want to make sure he wasn't somehow *scammed* into the Ferrari with the salesmen selling him bs, like the Ferrari is faster. Those salesmen are sharks and will say anything to get rid of a car... so yeah, just wondering if he felt the power difference.

CL 55 AMG Kompressor
Welcome to F car ownership. Don't let anyone scare you with maintenance costs. That line is only used by non owners who know nothing about these stallions. Their comments are based on what they have heard not from ownership. Maintenance costs will not be that much more than the Merc, that has been my experience. Service the car by someone who is accredited and you will have reliable trouble free motoring. The F cars beg to be driven hard. As you would have already found out the driving experience is totally different. You actually drive the car, concentration all the way, Merc pampers you and comforts you and makes up for your deficiencies as a driver. The torque of my CL55 Kompressor is addictive but the sound of my F355 and its instant acceleration when you drop a gear or two and floor it is something else. The F car is definitely faster and the handling ... just like being on rails. Build quality is not to the standard of the Germans but F car ownership is about the passion for the car as these cars are alive with their own character. Keep the F car and buy another Merc, best of both worlds. Enjoy and see you in F chat.

They were a $2,600 option from the factory called "Modular Wheels" which the original owner selected when he ordered the car. The stock wheels that a 360 comes with are a 5-spoke "starfish" style.

There is more to 'fast' than mashing the pedal in a straight line. Fast to me, is what a car AND driver can do on a back road, or track.

I love suckering in big hp cars onto a twisty road, and leaving them for dead. I especially enjoy doing it in an underpowered car.

Ownership

I owned a 360 for almost 5 years. Was the best yet most expensive car to maintain I have ever owned.

Well worth it at every turn in the road however and while not the most experienced driver, I always felt like that car had my back.

There is nothing like Ferrari ownership in my book.

The upkeep was beginning to kill me. 2 major services then the F1 clutch replacement. OUCH! I work for a living......

None the less, you PLEASE, please enjoy every moment of ownership whether it be cruising the beach, running through the gears on the twisties, cruising through the Taco Bell at 2AM or just waking up in the middle of the night and tiptoeing to the garage just to look at it.

My sincere congratulations. You are privileged. I really miss mine!

Late night Taco Bell runs are the best.

+1 FTW! The funniest drive I had was tailing a 911 all the way down Angeles Crest Highway -- a nice twisty canyon road -- in a stock, base model 2004 Mini Cooper.

I realize this, however most "mexico-highway" runs occur... on the highway. I can't recall the last time I ran a Jetta through LA like it's a Le Mans course. I was implying straight-line power; however I do realize the 360s potential through twisties.

Hey hey now youre being an ***! I ran a jetta last weekend through LA and I got it all on cam, man that high revving 4 cyl was just too much for my blown V8...NOt. Ferraris are okay, however, craftsmanship wise, its like sitting in a shelby GT500, okay power, but impressive plastic to go around to make bb guns. MB FTW.

It took me 6 months to find this car which was alot of fun and alot of reading...thanks Fchatters. There is alot of junk out there and with this type of vehicle it is extremely important to get a car with a good pedigree. This is a great time to get into the exotic market.

My short list of vehicles I was looking at:

360, R8, M6, XKR, Gallardo, GTR...almost bought the R8 but I needed a drop top and I would have wasted $50K driving off the lot.

Test drive sold me!
Not at an authorized Ferrari dealership from what I remember. She looks sweet enjoy it.

bwahahahahahaha

Got your AMG spanked by a little Jetta hahahaha, it's those turns man. At Broadway and 6th, it's a tough turn. Try hitting the apex next time.
