BlueTooth

I have been thinking about buying bluetooth for my 2006 SL500. Each time I ask a dealer for a quote, they say it averages between 2800-3400 dollars because they do not know what is needed (bluetooth, cradle, wiring, etc..). But I'm confused, in the parts department, bluetooth cost 550 dollars. I do not need the cradle, how can the labor for wiring be that expensive. Does anyone have the information to allow me to just buy the bluetooth, and plug it into the car?

The guys at incartronics can answer all your questions.

I have an older SL (2003) and I got the run around from everyone about doing a bluetooth setup. Finally I called incartronics and they sold me a Argos unit and a fiber optic line. It took me all of 15 minutes to install and I now I have bluetooth. It runs right though all the factory controls on my car (ie steering wheel, dash, COMAND). Its perfect just like my car came with it from the factory.

The 2005+ uses a different unit instead of Argos, but incartronics sells them.

My whole set up with shipping was about $750.00.

They are blowing smoke. I don't think the COMAND unit is terribly different between a 2006 and 2007, and it cost me around $750 total, installed by my dealer (Fletcher Jones in Newport Beach, CA).
