congrats!

I got my 55 amg tail lights and tried to put them myself yesterday.
After I realized I have to take the whole trunk apart, I decided to bring to stealership.

do you know how much they will charge me for swapping the tail lights by any chance?

Maybe 1-2 hours worth of work . it took me 1 hour and is actually easy to do as i was taking my time .

Yes it will , but the SL63 tails are smoked rather than red & clear .

I think both of the 07+ taillights look good, but I switched my red/clear lights out for the red/smoked (07+ SL55/63/65-style, where the smoked part is more transparent than the 03-06). I got them on eBay for $600-700 if I remember correctly.

I had these lights on my '03 SL500 before I got the SL550 (the dealer switched them out for me upon trade-in), so I know they're a fit for any R230 SL regardless of model year. Here's a link to an eBay auction for the same lights I have, and I'm pretty sure this was the same seller (can't remember for sure...was over a year ago).

gave up installing myself

paid $125 to a dealer to install them

i dont have any instruments, and instead of going there buying them, spending time doing it, i decided to be lazy and spoil myself making someone else do it

Very easy , once you take the trunk lid cover and look at it , you'll figure it out , piece of cake

Yes you will see the screws directly above your head once you look in , trust me is easy , but be very gentle when taking off the trunk lid pad , and the worse that can happen is to come up with some broken tabs . ( but I'm 5 minutes from the dealer don't know about you )

Hah Well, I took mine today to workshop, so I asked them to do it, while they will be painting my front bumper and spoiler.

Hope to get it in few days, then a photo shoot is coming!!

valley motors in hunt valley, md...
