Reprogram Needed?

If I up my final drive/differential from 2.65 to a 2.82...will I need to reprogram my TCU? I have done such a conversion on many BMWs without issue, but I am not sure if the TCU would go crazy on my MB.

my question was when you had your steering wheel removed did you see a (extra) wire hook-up in the steering column that would connect to the wire from a steering wheel with shifter buttons? Pat.
