I got an oil change today (not from MB) and was told that my car doesn't have a dipstick. Iknow that I should be able to check the level from the display areas on the speedometer or the tacometer. The display reads engine oil level not when on. I have waited oover an hour and the display still reads the same. Any Thoughts?

IT CAN ONLY BE DONE WITH THE ENGINE OFF ONLY!!!!! and vehicle has to be on a level spot . if you turn the engine on wait about 10 minutes until the next reading .

Thanks for the info. Any idea of how to reset the (A) maintance reminder?

Unless I'm mistaken, "A" maintenance is more than just an oil change. Did your guy do everything recommended? How long do you intend to hang onto this car?

Thanks for the reply. I looked up in my operator's manual and am not finding much detail about the A maintenance. The car has 38,000 miles on it. I'm not really sure what should have been done on a A service log. Do you know? By the way, you have got a sweet looking SL.

I have to make loud noises here because I'm a small fish in a big pond. I've only got one SL. And it's a 500. With no mods. And it's my daily driver. I'm so below average here it hurts.
