SL55 AMG
FS: SL500 custom exhaust
Mods: please keep this here as this part is specific to the R230 chassis SL500 only.
I recently traded in my SL500 for an SL55 AMG. As such I did not install the custom exhaust I had fabricated for the car. The system is brand new, still in the original box and in perfect condition, ready to ship. Please PM me or email with a decent offer; I'd like to at least get $1500 plus shipping for this system.
Specs:
- stainless steel construction, excellent weld quality, hand polished to a bright durable finish
- factory hanger mounts installed
- uses race tuned hi-flow mufflers for an aggressive sound but not too over the top like a complete muffler delete setup
- all state legal (I specificly asked for this since I didn't want to hassle with emmisions and wanted to be compliant)
- quad tips, staggered for a perfect look and style
- made to fit within factory cutouts for the SL500, so you don't have to modify your rear bumper cover, these quads are 3" each outlet so they are made to fit perfectly. This, again, was one thing I was very particular about sonce I did't want to modfiy my bumper

Looks good but being a side job exhaust witch i have no idea how it would sound or how it would make my car perform , you got to be a bit more reasonable on that price bud

sure, just send me a PM with an offer, that's what I'm going to ask folks to do as I'm not really much of a salesman...this is not a side job; it was fabricated by an exhaust system builder who has worked on MB, Bently, Ferrari, etc..etc..it was made to perform much better (free-flow) compared to stock and is said to have an aggressive rumble and sound strong through the powerband, even more so then the AMG; I was thinking about having my amg tips cut and welded on & using it on my SL55; but in order to save money and use this system for what it was built for I decided to sell it to the SL500 owners because that was the car it was built for....

the tips were specified/sized to fit the exact size of the factory cutout for the SL500, inside the space where the factory tips are. This is because any larger quad tips (like the SL55 AMG) would require modifying that rear bumper on the SL500 to fit, and would require an addional mesh peice to look like an SL55 on top of that. This setup is a much cleaner factory looking quad tip for the SL500, instead of the 2 factory ovals.

thanks Sunir for the great deal on the exhaust. my sl now sounds sexy as one of my brothers said.
i cant believe how good they look and how the sound is unbelievable. it sounds like a 55 or better. i will post some pics and a sound clip later.
I was also nice meeting you in person. you're a cool dude and your 55 is sweet. you're lucky it was raining like a monsoon or i would have stolen your engine

Exhaust is sold fellas to gqa. George great meeting you also!! You're a cool dude and it was good to see your car in person...looks even better than the pics (even though it was a dang monsoon out there)!
Looking forward to hangin' out sometime either down here in Bmore/DC or up in NYC/Brooklyn/Queens...
that exhaust is sweet, I was so close to putting it on my sl had I not traded it...I think it's perfect for the personality of your ride, makes it pop both audio and visual, and it's got great looks on the SL!!
Looking forward to your post, pics and audio clip...
lemme know next time you're gonna be around my way, if the weather is nice we can drop the tops and head out, lots of mb folks down in DC, also in bmore in the spring we do some trips for steamed crabs and beer down the shore...

The setup was cutom made, sorry don't recall which mufflers were used, but they were a free flow type muffler picked to make it sound like an amg or better...I'm guessing maybe a borla or something like that perhaps...
