SL/R230: picture thread
That can't be dark blue. Look at the mirrors.
maybe the wax on this car is awesome so people think its dark blue but once they notice the mirrors.....
OHH i didn't notice that!

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Under white lighting it's clearly dark blue.
Both are stone with dark blue.
The very white and cold fluoresce lighting in the garage together with the flash makes the stone creamy color look almost grey; the one with the model was taken at sunset with very warm yellow lighting.
Here's another interior indoor shot of the stone interior but looks almost grey.
another outdoor shot of the very same car, under a cloudy sky. The stone interior shows up better than indoor without the cold white flash.
Question: How is that Burl Walnut was ordered with Stone interior? The last time I checked, it was not possible?

I see what you are talking about. Is that your car? BTW unless the owner did so to take the picture, I wouldn't recommend parking my car over two spaces in an empty parking lot. That's just asking to be keyed up or better yet, spray painted

I will be trading it in for the W211 E55 once the DVD navigation is out, so you are definitely right, I dare not risk it being keyed and so the car was temporarily parked like that for the photo session in the parking lot.
It's a fair world, the more you enjoy and treasure your car, the more you worry about it. Oh well.
Did the camera change the wood color also?
Yes, lighting can be totally deceiving.
I've tried Berry Red and Charcoal mats in my car, both poor, it's down to the pile in the mat. I seem to spend my life vacuuming the footwells.
The much coarser pile of the mats in my SL600 seems to soak up the dirt in the matting and give a rather better appearance. A quick vacuum and jet-wash and then hang up to dry overnight in the utility room is all they need.
The custom made mats are cheaper than stock and coarser as well. What I did was I took off the plastic taps (with the securing holes) from the original mats and put them onto the custom ones so they look totally stock and don't slide around.
As far as what MB offers, I did see a set of dark grey all seasons mats on a friend's new SL I'm not sure how it looks with the berry though.
One trick I mastered lately, before I remove the key from the ignition, I leave it at the first position (radio on position), then I hit memory 1. Memory one is what I have programmed giving me maximum leg room for getting in and out of the car. After the seat has moved back, I take off the key. Next time I get in and start the car, everything goes back automatically to the previous position without me having to touch the memory buttons.
I find the above solution giving me far more leg room when existing than the factory easy entry/exit feature. With the stone interior, I just have to try the best to eliminate those nasty scuff marks!

). In the CL, we had the Java with burlwood combo as I didn't like the chestnut. See the pic...Wolfman
You can always order different wood & leather combinations with Mercedes as long as the colors are offered. It will cost you $1000 customiztion fee (absolute rip-off

I clip on the V1 main unit on the sun visor (see pic) whenever I use it. I have the concealed display unit in the ash tray compartment as shown on the other picture.
