Sweating Shockz

Had my ride in for service the other day and was told by the service rep that my rear shocks are "sweating" and to prepare for a future replacement (got 70k miles now) of my rear shocks at $5.5k. Is this the only option? I replaced the air shocks on my 72 380 SEL with standard shocks and it worked out sweet. Can this be done to my '03 SL500? Optionz?

Peace,
Garret

Hi, Garret,

I'm not too sure about doing a straight replacement on the R230. Since all 4 shocks are electronically sensor'ed and all of the hydraulics are connected, seems like it would be more trouble than it'd be worth to disable the hydraulics. I know the Black edition has standard shocks, but that's in all 4 corners.

Oh, and by the way, expect teeth to stop by and correct your spelling.
