Aftermarket Wheel Question all you wheel fanatics chime in.
Hey,
I'm getting ready to decide and order a nice set of aftermarket wheels for my SL55. I'm looking at getting 20x10 and 20x11, however I'm not sure about the sizes that the SL will fit.
What I'm looking for is about a 4 inch lip in the back and 2 inch in the front, that is why I need some input on offset since I don't want the wheel sticking out the fender wall. I'm going to be dropping the car really low so if you can direct me on tire size it would be really nice.
Whatever help you can give me I would be grateful.

I have an 04 55 also. I run asanti 10 with 305 25 20 PS2 rear and 9.5 255 30 20 for the front ps 2. I havent lowered the car but I think they look cool.
Asanti are custom made for the car. get a two piece they are more durable with the low pro tires.

2005 SL500, Black on Stone
I have an '05 SL500 and have Brabus Monoblock VI rims, with the exact same dimensions and tire sizes as stated above. Looks great and fills the wheel wells perfectly, without protruding from the body panels. Also, no rubbing at all at any times. My car is not lowered.

Here are pics of my car with the Brabus wheels, using the original MBZ Center Caps. I bought them used from another member of this board, Kong, who had them on his leased SL500. Nice guy, great deal....lived in SF. I'm in Sacramento.

i was quoted 4600$ CDN w/ tires mounted installed al that in canada.
i like them but i want 5" lip so i got another set coming frm USA!! another 4 weeks!!! maybe my seats/paint/glass will be all fixed by then!!!

i like, but 4"lp just doesnt cut it anymore...J/k
nice looking rims i narrowed it down to those, cor, hre, and the auto coutre ones...but i wanted 5" lip and so it was down to cor and the one i picked! the core looked KILL on gga's car with white with painted white spokes, but being a silver car i chose a different set. i opted away fro the blakck painted look on silver as where i live there are so many cars with that combo and i might get bored. ideally i want 3 cars!! lol blk/silvr/white so then i can have all different rims
