SL/R230: retractable top wont go down

retractable top wont go down
Hey all, my top (05)wont go all the way down...stuck when almost closed....is it batteries issue??? Is there a way to close the top manually???

I had a similar issue a few years ago. I don't think there is any way to close it manually. In my case, something about the electronic control got "set" in the wrong position. A non-dealer friend advised me to start the car holding the "open close" tab, which had somehow gotten reversed. It worked, and after that, it closed completely.

When you pop the top off the trunk open first, and what holding it is a metal piece from the rear. I believe that piece is bent. i had the same problem. u can close your top manially but do it slow and ease or you will brake it.
