R230 Trunk Lock Help
Does anyone have a exploded view drawing of the trunk lock mechanism. My lock makes a high pitched sound like there is an air leak and it will not automatically close my trunk lid. I do not want to bring it to the stealer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have to remove the valve/servo trunk closure assist mechanism and epoxy the multiple leaks. Many people have repaired their assist this way. I did mine a month ago. Be careful not to break anything removing it. It takes a lot of patience and some skill taking things apart.
The plastic they molded the mechanism out of shrinks over time. There are about 5 little ball bearings used as plugs in multiple plastic access tubes used in the manufacturing process. You need to totally engulf the tubes and bearings in epoxy to seal all the leaks. The cracks in the plastic are very obvious but you need to put more epoxy then you would think for future leaks.
